We Survived Our First Tournament

Tae Kwon Do has been apart of my life since I was 9 years old. For over a decade, I’ve told myself that I would go back to training and become a women’s self defense instructor. I trained 3 weeks in Krav Maga and signed myself up for the Battle on the Bayou. I hadn’t trained, I didn’t even know my form but I challenged myself to go for it!

It was amazing to have my son around and getting to share this time with him. I hope to model that if you have a dream, don’t keep thinking about it; GO FOR IT! When you get knocked down, get up! If you fail, try again. Challenge yourself to do what you believe is impossible and  don’t let anyone or anything stand in your way.

HUNGRY!

When he turns four, I hope to be cheering him on in a competition. I also hope that he would study some form of self defense in his childhood but I won’t force it on him.
